Located on Vineyard Drive Thacher Winery is the personal label of winemaker Sherman Thacher, who served as brew master at the Los Gatos Brewing Company for 16 years. The Thacher’s purchased the estate in 2003, when the property was known as Kentucky Ranch. Many of the historical elements on the property have been preserved including an original 1920’s barn which is used for the wine club release party in May. The celebration coincides with the Kentucky Derby and guests are known to attend with oversized hats. This location is popular for Rhone Blends and Zinfandels. During our visit the tasting room also had Rose and Blanc de Blanc. Enjoy a tasting flight for $15 waived with a six bottle purchase. Outside food is welcome and the tasting staff are friendly. This location has winery dogs and pets are not permitted at this time.

  • 2013 CONTROLLED CHAOS
Controlled Chaos has an artisanal red appearance and tastes like a classic old vine California field blend, with the fruit-driven freshness of younger vines. A mystical scent of blackberries, raisins, pepper, licorice, peaches and coconut oil unfolds in the glass. It has earthy Pinot Noir characteristics, and Grenache has that soft finish. Pair with barbecued red meat and grilled peaches, wood fired pizza, or pasta with marinara.
