The Golden Vine
Livermore
Livermore hosts a collection of wineries and urban tasting rooms that can be accessed from South Livermore Avenue. We tasted in Livermore 10 years ago and this area has really changed. Winemakers have strengthened their craft to compete with labels from Napa and Sonoma. Public roads are paved and include walking/biking trails that connect winery locations. Our map illustrates the walking trails removed from vehicle traffic. We do not recommend walking on the bike trails that boarder the main road. Wineries in this region host picnic areas for patrons and welcome outside food. Appointments are not needed for parties smaller than eight.

Sunol
Sunol is a small rural town located along the 680 Freeway. This region is well known for a historic railroad system and Sunol still serves as a train stop. Food options are limited to a café and corner store. We noticed a small collection of picnic tables across from the train station that are perfect for a picnic lunch. Winery locations are scenic and isolated but worth the drive. Appointments are required for all visitors.
