Located in Southern California, Temecula Wine County occupies a sub region of the Sonoran Desert. Positioned near Coachella and Palm Springs this region has adopted the, “party in dessert attitude.” If you are visiting for the first time keep a look out for the palm trees that mark the entrance to winery locations. Driving through the valley will take 15 minutes with favorable traffic. Due to the close proximity of tasting rooms it’s possible to visit multiple locations in one day. Walk- in patrons are welcome at most locations and we have come to expect music on the weekends. Outdoor tasting bars with shady areas and misters are common but you should still pack water and choose light clothing. Temecula wine country is removed from downtown but many wineries have invested in bistros and upscale dining options to retain patrons into evening hours. Prices are reasonable and we were impressed with the region’s attention to food. This region was previously overrun with limousines but wineries have tightened their policies and Temecula has found a way to create a new wine identity.
