Located at the entrance of Highway 227 Autry Cellars is the only distillery in the region. This is a family run operation with a production of 500 cases per year. Ask your tasting representative for more information on the wine making process, production and storage occurs onsite. The grappa at this location is made from Viognier skins and the brandy is made from apples. Tasting fee is $10 for wine and $5 for distilled spirits. The viewing deck has a wonderful panorama of Edna Valley. Outside food and pats on a leash are welcome in the patio areas. Featured in this review is winemaker Steve Autry and his cat, “Muscat.” You may recognize Mr. Autry, he is a local musician and currently part of the band, “Local Vocals.” This location is also part of our Distillery Trail that begins in Paso Robles.

  • Brandy American Barrel Finished
    Featuring a tasty warmth with sweetness imparted by American oak, this light straw-colored brandy is made from a variety of carefully-selected grapes and wines benefitting from five passes through a pot still and two years in the barrel,. Expect light pastry flavors and aromas along with vanilla, custard, and spice with maple influences and a nice lingering finish.
  • Brandy Hungarian Barrel Finished
    This seductive brandy features an enticing character with caramel and vanilla flavors and hints of caramel, maple syrup, and baking bread on the nose. Aging in denser French oak with a medium toast and untoasted heads yields a distinctive brandy that’s deeper, richer, and creamier with more mid-palate flavors.
  • 2009 Cabernet Franc
    The wine opens up at mid-palate with lingering hints of cherry. There are slight nuances of ginger, cedar, and clove on the finish. The acidity works well with bold food pairings. This wine will help you appreciate dishes like chicken Marsala, London broil, smoked meats, or stir-fry.
  • 2009 Cabernet Franc Reserve
    An enticing cherry-almond hazelnut nose welcomes you to this slightly minty cherry jubilee. The structural tannins support a full mid-palate, yielding to hints of dark chocolate and molasses at the finish. The mintiness comes from the famous sessile French oak Quercus petraea grown in northeast Hungary. Pairs well with savory cheeses, smoked meats, duck confit, or cassoulet.

    Prepare to be captivated by our delightful 2012 Cabernet Franc Reserve as it tempts you with the flavor and aromas of cherry and hints of cedar. Warm summer days and cool evenings encourage slow ripening and enhance development of the fruit. The acidity of this wine makes it great for pairing with foods like savory cheeses and smoked meats.

    This lovely Bordeaux entices with aromas of cherry, raspberry, vanilla, and black current.     Our pale gold 2014 Chardonnay Reserve offers intense aromas of succulent white peaches, apricot, tropical fruits, and honeycomb, with intoxicating fruit flavors beguiled by aftertastes of vanilla and coconut. Grown in John Silva’s private Edna Valley vineyard and hand harvested by Steve.

    Our Forte is a ruby port-style dessert wine made from Petite Sirah/ grabbing your eye with its deep garnet color and tickling your nose with black cherry and a touch of cola. Its flavor profile is rich with notes of plum, black currant, and briar fruit. Pair with chocolate mousse, cheesecake with fruit reduction, or Roquefort cheese drizzled with orange honey.

    A delightful creation from 2013 Viognier skins and juice remaining at pressing, our Grappa delights with its flowery nose and interesting combination of spice and herbaceousness. Two passes through a fractionating still allow isolating the very best flavors and aromas, providing an inherent smoothness, roundness, and suppleness uncharacteristic of many Grappas.

    Featuring an equal blend of Merlot, Petite Sirah/ Primativo, Tannat, and Tempranillo grapes, the harmonious makeup of this delightful wine is not dominated by any one player. Rather, each member of the ensemble rises to solo together, a style known as group improvisation. In this spirit, we introduce our ‘Group Improve’…Autry Cellars’ first rosé wine.
  • 2012 Malbec
    This fruit-forward wine beckons with bright cherry and boysenberry aromatics that lead to a black cherry and plum mid-palate, with piccolo notes of vanilla and anise and an underlying hint of dark chocolate.     Viognier is prized for its aromatics, and ours does not disappoint. Peach, pear, green apple, and violet notes dominate the floral bouquet. The mid-palate is rich with fruit—white peach, apricot, and apple—enhanced by just a slight nuttiness. The wine shades to a smooth vanilla-caramel-coconut finish.   • 2011 Zinfandel Reserve
    Savor our full-bodied, deep garnet-colored Zin as it opens with aromas of dark berries, cedar, pepper, and other spices.
