Located in Edna Valley, Biddle Ranch Vineyards was conceived by a group of friends with mutual appreciations for wine, food, and the Central Coast. The tasting room has large windows that fold away creating the perfect outdoor/indoor space. The grounds feature multiple spaces for small groups and patrons. We always arrive unannounced and found this location perfectly manicured on an unremarkable afternoon. The staff is friendly and outside food is welcome in the patio areas. Pets on a leash are welcome and the indoor/outdoor bar allows you to keep them close. Enjoy a tasting flight ($15), waved with two bottle purchase. Cheese plates are available for $12 and $14.

  • 2012 Akubra
We took fruit from the north, Paso Robles, for our source of Cabernet Sauvignon to bring structure and body, with fruit from the south, Edna Valley, for the Syrah to provide suppleness, spice, and intensity. This new blend of 5Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is elegant and forceful at once, full of smoky black and red fruit flavors, savory roasted meat, green peppercorn, and bay leaf notes. The wine is seamlessly balanced with dusty tannins wrapped in a medium bodied approachable frame with great acidity bringing length.
  • 2013 Cabernet Franc
Dusty on the nose with spice and flowers, followed by hints of blueberries and cherries. You'll find this wine to have bright red currant, dark fruit and subtle notes of cigar box. With bigger tannins, this wine is still approachable and has great structure with earthy undertones. A great wine for fall with fresh crushed dried herbs, sage and anise. Pair with rack of lamb, red wine poached pears, or truffle risotto.
  • 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
Blackberry seed and raspberry with other dark fruits on the nose; Bay leaf, eucalyptus, minty; Dusty tannins; Flavors of dark fruit, dark chocolate with earthy undertone
  • 2014 Chardonnay
A quintessential chardonnay from the Edna Valley, you’ll find subtle hints of tropical green mango, citrus blossom, fresh honeydew, and ginger. Mineral nuances of graphite, flint, and crushed rock balance this delightful wine. There are nice notes of graham cracker and hazelnut on a beautifully round palate presented with poise and restraint.
  • 2015 Country Pinot Noir

  • 2013 Girandole

  • 2015 Pinot Grigio
Beautifully layered on the nose with pear, lime zest, candied kumquat, hints of jasmine accompanied by more savory undertones of seashell and river rock. • 2015 Rosé
This Rosé has wonderful complexity with delicate notes of rose petal and watermelon rind, layered with strawberry tops, and ruby red grapefruit. Dry, bright, and crisp this wine offers great length, precision, and a chalky minerality accompanied by a soft mid-palate do, in part, to its aging in neutral French oak barrels for 6 months.

Lovely nose of bosc pear, lychee, green apple, and white flowers with a flinty mineral undertone. The palate delivers bright delineated fruit, and pristine focus, all the while filing out a rounder mid-palate from its time in barrel. This wine was aged in both stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels for 10 months.
  • 2013 Semillon
Distinctive aromatics of honeycomb, poached pear and ever-classic hints of hay make this a no-nonsense white wine. Aged for 48 months in neutral oak, there’s a serious mid-palate depth that wraps your palate in orange marmalade, crème brulee and butterscotch. Length and fresh lift are still evident thanks to the sandy soils in this vineyard, giving the wine an elegant finish.
  • 2014 Sparkling Wine
The inaugural release of our estate sparkling chardonnay is bright and lifted on the nose with a delicate lean palate presence offering great length and nuance in a clean fresh expression. Hints of granny smith apple, pear blossom, and wet stone combine with more savory elements of white pepper and a slight brininess reminiscent of sea breezes. Subtle hints of lemon meringue suggesting the rewards of this wines layers and age-ability, for those willing to wait…. (extra brut)

Balanced with both power and concentration from the warmer vintage and freshness from the coastal vineyards, the wine has great structure and the quintessential chalky tannins of Syrah.
