Located on Corbett Canyon Road the Sextant tasting room shares a space with a gourmet deli. This location includes outside picnic areas that pair perfectly with the sandwiches inside. Located on the Old Edna Property this is our favorite Sextent location. It’s pouring the estate selections featured in Paso Robles in a laid back approachable environment. Tasting fee is $15 and includes the tumbler tasting glass with logo. We are short on pictures of the deli, because we choose to visiting during peak hours. Also unique to this tasting room, the hand crafted furniture was for sale and rotates subsequently. Pets are not allowed inside this location until the deli closes which is one hour before closing.

Full-bodied but balanced, no element strays too far from the core. The result is a seamless and velvety texture not easily accomplished, but greatly enjoyed.

  • 2014 Night Watch
Blending Zinfandel and Petite Sirah in various parts of California has become a regional calling card. After considering the fine points of the 2014 Night Watch, it all makes sense. • 2014 Wheelhouse
If wine could smile, the Sextant Wheelhouse would always be ready for its close-up. A vibrant profile features wild strawberry and raspberry signatures as spice and earthy tones appear on the mid-palate. The finish is smooth, laced with a hint of satisfying tartness. While so enjoyable by itself on a care-free afternoon, it’s also quite versatile to pair with dishes later in the evening: barbecued tri-tip, roasted artichokes, spicy Thai beef on a bed of lemon grass, or French onion soup dripping with Swiss Gruyère. Simply uncork at dinner parties then listen to the raves amongst grateful smiling faces.

  • 2015 X-Series Estate Caladoc
With the Sextant Caladoc, the revered wine regions of Bordeaux, Mendoza, La Mancha, Southern Rhone, and Southwest France come into play, either Grenache or Malbec having made their mark accordingly. The crossing of these two varietals gives way to a different and distinct vine laden with it’s own singular profile. Expressive contours lead the way: wild blackberries, cranberries, and black cherries at the front; loganberries and nutmeg at the mid-palate; carobs, lavender, and graphite at the periphery. Add balanced acidity to roll with smooth tannins, this wine proves rustic and modern; reserved and forward; delectable and complex, all at the same time. Finally, the lengthy finish glides along, then tapers, reminiscent of certain regional traditions but with a fresh new take.
  • 2016 X-Series Estate Verdejo

Finally, essences of sweet lemon meringue pie are detected and a nice chalky limestone flavor lingers on the pallet. Lower alcohol content makes this a clean, refreshing spring/summer wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with lighter fare. Only 110 cases produced!
