Located in Presidio Neighborhood, Carr Winery is the personal label of winemaker Ryan Carr. Enjoy the ambiance of a working winery while sipping on varietals sourced from local appellations. Central Coast microclimates offer a unique opportunity to produce a wide range of varietals. Ryan Carr is growing Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Grenache, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Visit the "Barrel Room" located in downtown Santa Barbara which features monthly art shows, flamenco nights and music acts delivering rock 'n roll, county and blues. Enjoy a tasting flight ($15), Cheese Plate ($15), and wines on tap. This location hosts board games, an outdoor patio and a barrel top bar. Carr Winery is kid free on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We also enjoyed Carr Winery in Santa Ynez which has similar atmosphere.

    This Sauvignon Blanc exhibits aromas of lemongrass and citrus zest that lead into flavors of white peach, nectarine, and pear on the palate. Small traces of honey suckle and green melon linger on the light finish of this wine and add to the light, yet complex mouth-feel. Pair with Cilantro and Lime Grilled Shrimp.
  • 2007 Cabernet Franc
    This Cabernet Franc is deep plum in color with aromas of blueberries, tobacco, dusty spice, dried herbs and dark chocolate. Velvety tannins have allowed this wine to age gracefully.
  • 2005 Cabernet Franc
    This Cabernet Franc has an aroma of fresh roasted coffee and a soft smooth mouth feel that has a hint of pepper on the finish.
  • 2006 Cabernet Franc
    This Cabernet Franc has aromatics of ripe blueberries, and allspice that segue to flavors of blackberries, dark chocolate and dried herbs. It is well-balanced wine with rich velvety tannins
  • 2014 Cabernet Franc
    Fresh cut poblano pepper and sweet raspberry aromas gracefully emanate from this 2014 Cabernet Franc from the Santa Ynez Valley. Essences of bold, black cherries and fresh cracked white pepper work harmoniously with the lengthy, herbal finish of this wine. Delightfully robust and vibrant, but still smooth and silky along the palate, this wine is one like no other. Pair with Spinach Artichoke Dip Stuffed Mushrooms.

    This lively and complex Sauvignon Blanc yields aromas of light almond and cream, but tastes of stone fruits such as persimmon and apricot. This wine's vibrant edginess melts into a light, grassy finish
  • 2013 Chardonnay
    This French oak barrel fermented Chardonnay yields aromas of rich caramel and butterscotch while small hints of coconut linger in the background. Flavors of soft vanilla bean and light banana crème blend beautifully with more tart flavors of white peach, lemon blossom, and maple on the finish.
  • 2014 Cross Hatch Depth
    The co-fermentation of Cabernet Franc and Merlot yields contrasting flavors of soft baked plum, and vibrant, spicy earthiness of radish and root vegetables. The rich and velvet-like palate feel of the Merlot blends beautifully between the rugged and organic feel of the Cabernet Franc. This blend reveals its unique power mid palate, and gently winds down into a delicate and mellow finish. Pair with Moroccan Lemon and Cardamom Meatballs.

    This Grenache is dark purple in color with aromas of plum, rhubarb pie and white pepper. Full bodied with a velvety mouth feel and flavors of black licorise.  It is a powerful, yet elegant finish.

    This Grenache is a lush, mouth-filling wine with hints of crushed cherries, rhubarb pie, licorice and black pepper. Rich, ripe berries dominate the flavor profile with an elegant finish.

    Aromas of crystallized honey comb and dried apricot introduce the palate of this full yet subtle dessert wine. Soft notes of honeysuckle and ripe nectarine lead into a decadently long finish of vanilla bean and perfectly ripe white peach. Pair with Cinnamon Crumb Coffee Cake.

    Ripe yellow apples and soft, unsweetened cream introduce the palate of this medium bodied white wine. Tender notes of tropical fruit intermingle wonderfully with aromas of white roses and green apple. A pleasant minerality follows through the wine ending with a luscious, citrus finish.

    This Pinot Noir comes from the Yard Vineyard, which is the Northern most vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. The nose has hints of dark fruit and the palate has flavors of dark cherry and cranberry. This wine is hand-crafted from the four best barrels of the vintage and aged 32 months in French Oak, yielding a soft, gentle elegance and overall mouth-feel. Pair with Chili-Braised Beef.
