Imagine Wine was previously located in downtown Santa Ynez but the label has moved to Industrial Way in Buellton. Don't be surprised if you find winemaker Ross Jay Rankin pouring behind the counter, we did during our unannounced visit. Imagine wine is pouring Syrah, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese sourced from the Santa Ynez AVA. Enjoy a tasting flight for $15 at the bar inside. Outside food is welcome in cafe seating out front. Imagine Wine doubles as a boutique gallery and features the 1940's boudoir painting of a woman with pearls and small sculptures from Blake Rankin. Congratulations are in order to the Rankin Family, during our last visit we heard that Blake had been commissioned for the Arlington National Cemetery.

2015 Pearl Oak Savanna Vineyard ChardonnayIMAGINE…Nestled in the high hills on Foxen Canyon Road, Oak Savanna Vineyard has a number of unique Microclimates. Our 2015 “Pearl” Chardonnay exemplifies the cool growing conditions of the vineyard. The wine reflects the terroir through flavors of green apple, pear, and a pleasant citrus note. The aroma is very distinctly Chardonnay! Held in a third year French Oak Barrel for 12 months there is the slightest hint of Oak which is balanced by the natural acidity and partial Malolactic fermentation.

2007 Winged Paradise Mountain SyrahInky purple hues, dark chocolate, blackberry pie, blueberry & ripe plums intertwine with spice and vanilla. Balanced Oak tannins and a torrent of aged fruit forward flavor with a structured, textured mouth feel. Ripe, juicy acidity, layers of oxygen-induced surprises gradually opening to a rich smooth and sensual ‘winged’ flight.
