  • 2014 Grenache
Ripe red berries, licorice, rose and potpourri on the lively, mineral-accented nose, with suave floral and allspice qualities adding complexity. Juicy raspberry and classic cherry flavors show excellent precision and vivacity, with a hint of white pepper. Asian spice nuances come up on the clean, tightly focused finish, which is given shape by silky, even tannins.
  • 2013 Grenache
The 2013 Grenache Black Oak Vineyard is a promising wine. Hints of red berry fruit, dried flowers and leather make a strong first impression..
  • 2013 Grenache
The 2013 Grenache Larner Vineyard is juicy, open-knit and delicious, all in a fruit-forward, open-knit style. Sweet red cherry, mint, flowers and white pepper add attractive aromatic upper notes in a succulent, ripe Grenache that will drink well with minimal cellaring. The 100% whole clusters are very nicely integrated.
  • 2013 Pinot Noir
Bright red. Ripe red and dark berries on the fragrant nose, with suggestions of candied rose and allspice adding complexity. Plush, pliant and gently sweet, offering potent black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors and a seamless texture. This pinot is weighty and creamy yet almost shockingly lively, finishing with strong spiciness and length and round, harmonious tannins.
  • 2014 Pinot Noir
Powerful and virile in the glass, the 2012 Pinot Noir Kessler-Haak Vineyard boasts notable intensity. A firm spine of tannin gives the wine much of its personality and drive. Succulent red cherries, mint, exotic spices and wild flowers open up over time, but it is the wine's persistence and exquisite beauty that truly elevate it
  • 2013 Pinot Noir
Bold, rich and explosive, the 2013 Pinot Noir Las Hermanas Vineyard is a classic Sta. Rita Hills Pinot built on exuberant fruit and a real sense of flamboyance. The whole clusters are nearly buried. Lavender, violet, cloves, new leather and licorice wrap around a core of blue/purplish-hued fruits. Even with all of its overtness, the 2013 retains striking freshness.
  • 2014 Pinot Noir
The deep ruby colored 2013 Pinot Noir Melville Vineyard (stems and 20 months in new French oak) shows the vineyard's telltale gaminess, as well as tons of salty sea breeze, ground herbs, sweet black currants and wood smoke. Big, rich, beautifully textured and voluptuous, drink it anytime over the coming decade.

  • 2014 Pinot Noir
A smoking value, Chad's 2013 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills has a Rayas-like perfume of raspberries, flowers, candle wax and spice to go with a pure, elegant and seamless style on the palate. Sappy, fresh and lively, with nicely integrated acidity, this beauty saw 2whole clusters in the fermentation and 10 months on lees in all neutral oak.
  • 2013 Pinot Noir
Vivid red. Sexy raspberry preserve and floral pastille aromas are complemented by smoky minerals and spicecake. Silky and round on the palate, with a zesty mineral quality adding lift to the pliant red fruit liqueur flavors. Nicely blends richness with vivacity and finishes sappy, focused and very long, with lingering floral character and smooth tannins coming up late
  • 2015 RoseĢ
Intensely perfumed bouquet of wild strawberry, blood orange, and nectarine aromas, complicated by dusty minerals and flowers. Juicy, slightly sweet citrus and red berry flavors hit the palate, and are given a firm edge by the acidity. Gains weight and richness on the finish. This rose will be very flexible at the table.
  • 2013 Syrah
Violets, plums, incense and potpourri all emerge from the full-bodied, supple and downright sexy 2013 Syrah Melville Vineyard. Lifted, perfumed and complex, with no hard edges, it's certainly the most approachable and textured of the Syrahs from Chad... This release saw one-third whole clusters and the standard two years in neutral barrels.
  • 2013 Syrah
The inky colored 2013 Syrah Turner (stems and two years in neutral oak) is a classic cool climate Cali Syrah. Olive tapenade, game, smoked bacon, searing pepper and ripe dark fruits all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, textured, balanced and incredibly enjoyable effort.
  • 2013 Syrah
The 2013 Syrah Zotovich Vineyard is a very pretty wine. Lifted and gracious, because of the sandy soils here, the Zotovich nevertheless offers striking fruit density and voluptuousness. Black cherry, plum, menthol, lavender and sweet spices flow through to the creamy finish. This is the most overt and fruit-driven of the SAMsARA single-vineyard Syrahs. Nothing sticks out. Instead, it is the wine's overall balance that is convincing.
  • 2015 Syrah
The 2014 Syrah Santa Barbara County, which saw 1stems and a year on lees in neutral oak, offers terrific cool climate-like notes of peppery herbs, black olives, smoked meats and black fruits. Medium to full-bodied, rich, textured and nicely concentrated, this is a beauty that has real personality and character
