This clonal trio of Fiddlestix Pinot Noir shares the winemaker's perspective on how blending multiple clones changes the personality of a wine. One Clone Pinot noir is a single-barrel bottling of Pommard clone 5 from the Fiddlestix Vineyard- a unique opportunity to appreciate subtleties usually masked in larger blends.

In the 2012 Clonal Trio, we introduced you to three special clones of Pinot noir from the Fiddlestix vineyard. Rounding out our trio, this bottle adds one more Pinot noir clone from Fiddlestix Vineyard into the mix- Dijon 115. You may remember clone 5 as the stand alone 'One Clone' in our 2012 trio- but don't ever bet that you'll experience a clone the same way twice! Here, clone 5 rounds out our 2013 trio as the third and final blending component. But it likely brings you more questions than answers: Do you think blending multiple clones leads to a better wine? Does inclreased complexity trump simpler flavors? Only you can decide which is your favorite!

Discover the difference that a second clone makes with this blend of clones 5 and 777 from the Fiddlestix Vineyard. Still a unique small-batch, you'll find that the addition of a second clone makes this bottle a different wine entirely from it's 'One Clone' predecessor- and exquisite for entirely different reasons!
-
While clone 113 showed off alone in our 'One Clone', the addition of Dijon clone 667 in this second bottle demonstrates how clones often work best as teammates. See how the wine changes significantly with the addition of a second clone from the same vineyard.
