Winery
Located in Santa Maria Valley, Kenneth Volk Vineyard occupies the previous tasting room for Byron. Winemaker Kenneth Volk originally gained notoriety in the wine industry as the owner of Wild Horse. Mr. Volk acquired this property from Byron in 2004. We list this location as closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it is available by appointment if you made reservations 48 hours in advance. During our visit in 2017 the vineyard was undergoing transformation. The 30 year Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines were being replanted. We learned that fruit will be sourced until new grapes reach maturity. This locations has a picnic area near the parking lot that is easily overlooked. Outside food and pets on a leash are welcome. Visited on a weekend when the barrel room is open to patrons for viewing.
