Winery
Located in Livermore Valley Murrieta’s Well was initially farmed with cuttings from Chateau d’Yquem and Chateau Margaux located in France. Murrieta’s Well label has been established in 1990 when Philip Wente and Sergio Traverso partnered together to revive the winery. This location features manicured grounds and bistro with small bites menu. Winemaker Robbie Meyer is producing Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon. Enjoy a classic tasting flight for ($25) or wines by the glass. The indoor tasting room and restaurant upstairs are reserve for adults only. Reservations are strongly encouraged for parties who would like to uses the patio seating outside. Lawn games such as corn hole and jinga are provided to patrons free of cost. Pets are also welcome but must remain on a leash at all times.

2014 ChardonnayOur Chardonnay has beautiful aromas of ripe citrus, vanilla, and white flowers. Flavors of ripe white peach, pineapple, guava, and a hint of brown sugar that is followed by creamy vanilla and melds with a savory nuance of oak. This wine has a very rich texture that is balanced by bright acidity and is seamless on the palate.

2016 Dry RoséThis wine displays a vibrant peach color with aromas of strawberry, ripe watermelon and hibiscus. Berry, melon and floral flavors dance across the palate with a full textured body and balanced, crisp acidity.

2014 MalbecDominant red fruit, baked vanilla and cinnamon aromatics lend way to graham cracker crumbles and toasted oak on the nose. This wine has a long, balanced finish with filled with fruit and spice.

2014 MerlotRich aromas and flavors of cocoa, plum and Bing cherry with a hint of floral complemented by vanilla and mocha. Our Merlot 2014 is well-balanced with gripping tannins and a soft, supple mouthfeel.

2016 Muscat CanelliOur Muscat Canelli has beautiful aromas and flavors of citrus, guava, white peaches, and floral. It’s refreshing with a light body and perfect balance of acidity. Muscat Canelli is often appreciated for its beautiful fruit-floral aromatics and will be most appreciated in the first few years of bottle aging. However, with some time, this wine will pick up a bit more body and develop more complex aromas.

2014 Petit VerdotOur Petit Verdot 2014 entices with aromas of rose petals, violet, and crushed blueberry with flavors of dark fruit. This wine is medium-bodied with a balanced structure and powerful, gripping tannins.

2015 PortThis wine displays aromas of cherry, chocolate, roasted almond, rhubarb, spice, and a dash of citrus.Flavors of black cherry and baking spice lead to a robust finish.

2015 Sauvignon BlancOur Sauvignon Blanc showcases aromas of citrus, grapefruit, and banana with flavors of mango, herbs, chamomile tea, and mandarin orange. It is lean and light body leaving a refreshing finish on the palate. Sauvignon Blanc is a wine that can certainly be enjoyed upon release and will continue to develop in the bottle and can be enjoyed for at least 4-5 years.

2015 TempranilloOur 2015 Tempranillo has aromas and flavors of red cherries, mocha, coffee beans, and ripe blackberries. The wine delivers a silky mouthfeel with lush tannins that draw aromas and flavors through the palate for a long finish. I recommend laying this down for six months.

2014 The SpurThe Spur is crafted from blending the classic Bordeaux varietals with Petite Sirah to create a distinctly Livermore Valley fruit expression. Each varietal in this blend is farmed, harvested, and handcrafted individually to achieve their greatest expression. This vintage features aromas and flavors of vanilla, spiced cranberry, and clove with graham cracker and blueberries on the palate. Assertive tannins and round body create a lasting and elegant mouthfeel.

2013 The SpurThe Spur 2013 is crafted from blending the classic Bordeaux varietals with a Petite Sirah foundation and offers a distinctively California expression. Each varietal is farmed, harvested, and handcrafted individually to achieve their greatest expression. Beautiful fruit aromas of black cherry and blueberry are highlighted by subtle notes of sweet oak and earthy spice. A ripe tannic structure and balanced acidity make this wine perfect by itself or paired with your favorite recipes from the grill.

2015 The WhipWhen we create The Whip each vintage, we look to deliver a wine with aromatic appeal that provides a textured and delicious palate, and has the presence and crisp finish to be an excellent food wine. We are fortunate to grow several aromatic white varietals on our estate, such as Viognier and Muscat Canelli, that provide beautiful fruit and floral expressions. We use those varietals and others to accentuate the rich and full palate provided by our estate Chardonnay and Semillon enhanced by the wonderful natural acidity of our Sauvignon Blanc. This helps us deliver a complete wine that tells the story of our estate each and every vintage.

While this is a Chardonnay and Semillon led style, each grape varietal has a purpose in our blend that I hand select to add elements like structure, texture, floral notes, and acidity. This unique wine showcases juicy fruit flavors of white peach, pear and melon with bright acidity and a touch of sweetness that creates a smooth and creamy finish.

2014 ZarzuelaThis wine has wonderful aromatics of rich red and black fruit with notes of fresh blackberry and jam preserves. On the palate, juniper berry, cinnamon and baking spices with coffee bean fill the mouth with a warm round finish.
