Concannon Vineyard was founded in 1883 by an Irish immigrant named James Concannon. The vineyard was planted with vines imported from Château Margaux and Château d’Yquem in 1893. An estimated 80% of California’s 88,000 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon are planted to the renowned Conconnon Clones 7, 8 and 11. This estate still resides with the same family. Fourth generation winemaker John Concannon has created his own legacy, he has made the property sustainable. The tasting room hosts two standing bars, friendly staff and snacks for sale. If you did not come prepared for lunch we recommend “picnic in a bag” for $35 which features a wine selection paired with the optimal tasting snacks. Enjoy a tasting flight for $15 or wines by the glass. Look for lawn seating year round, an outside tasting bar April-October and lawn games like corn hole and bocce. Groups of 10 or more need a reservation ($10 per person) but include pouring staff and a private umbrella.
