Located in Livermore, The Big White House Winery is located at the end of Greenville Road. This is the personal label of winemaker John Even, who also has a self-titled label at the same location. Selections cannot be guaranteed but this location was pouring unfiltered Rhone and Bordeaux varietals during our visit. Grapes are currently sourced from Livermore Valley and Lodi. Each wine label features a painting created by his sister, who paints to match characteristics of the wine. Enjoy a tasting flight for $15. Outside food and pets on a leash are welcome.

  • 2015 Roussanne
The fragrant, perfumed nose seems to contradict the structure and body of the mouth. As with most of the BWH whites, the finish, which balances these attributes, is crisp and racy.
  • 2015 Zinfandel
This Zin has a clean nose of ripe red cherries, white pepper and cinnamon. It is medium-bodied in the mouth with juicy cherry-raspberry, cardamom and allspice. Our 2015 Zin has approachable tannins, even as a two-year-old, and exceptionally good balance w
