Congratulations are in order to Dante Robere Vineyard who took home an impressive 9 metals at the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Gold medals were awarded to the label for the 2015 Mourvedre and 2014 Petite Sirah. Five selections took home Silver metals including the 2015 Estate Syrah, 2015 Dante’s Inferno, 2015 Zinfandel, 2015 Barbera and 2015 Tempranillo. The label is named for its founders Dan Rosenberg and Bob Bossi. This team started growing Zinfandel in Dan’s backyard and slowly grew their craft. Previously employed as an in accountant and insurance agent, these partners opened their doors to patrons in 2015. Private tastings are available with advanced notice and cost $25 per person. Enjoy a tasting flight for $15, waived with bottle purchase. Outside food and pets on a leash are welcome in the patio areas. This location is connected to the bike trail that runs throughout Livermore Wine County.

2014 Element 116Named after Livermorium, an element discovered at the Lawrence Livermore Lab, this wine is done in a classic Bordeaux style. Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Petit Verdot (20%) make up this blend which offers firm, yet soft tannins, great mouth-feel and flavors of plum, currant, mint, fig and oaky spices.
