Located in Livermore Valley, Cuda Winery is the ambition of ex software engineer Larry Dino and his wife Margie. This label focuses on Bordeaux style wines made from the Livermore Valley AVA. Look for blends and single varietals made with Semillion, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. This winery is named after a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that Larry restored while searching for his ideal winery property. Note the “plum crazy purple” that is used for wine labels and merchandise. Small lots of non-Bordeaux style wine are bottled under the black label. Enjoy a tasting flight for $10. Outside food and pets on a leash are welcome in the patio areas. This location is connected to the bike trail that runs throughout Livermore Wine County.

  • 2014 Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon
This one is for the Cab lover who likes deep and dark over zippy and racy. Black Label Cab is fruit forward with the initial attack of blackberries and plums. This is a Cab that keeps on surprising you with evolving flavors of licorice, molasses, and oak influences. The soft tannins provide a elegant mouth feel and provides a long lasting fruit finish. The black label Cabernet Sauvignon screams for steak smothered with mushrooms in a wine reduction sauce .
  • 2015 Cabernet Franc
Soft and elegant with aromas of raspberries, red licorice and strawberry. Soft red fruit on the palate with layers of vanilla, red fruit, white pepper and cedar.
  • 2014 Cabernet Franc
Soft and elegant with aromas of sweet red raspberries, red licorice and strawberry. Soft red fruit on the palate with layers of vanilla, baking coco, black pepper, and cedar. Well balanced tannins with medium+ acid. This Cabernet Franc will get more elegant over time as it bottle ages. Enjoy!
  • 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine is bold and intense with tantalizing aromas of cherry, tobacco, cedar, leather . Fruit carries through on the palate with pomegranate, vanilla, and pepper . Sturdy yet supple tannins are driven by fabulous acidity, engaging every part of your mouth.
  • 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Elegant and complex from beginning to end. Reminds me of sitting in my grandfathers smoky office with leather chairs and box of open fresh cigars. Red fruit of cherries and pomegranate are layered with the leather, smoke and tobacco. This wine has depth and can be enjoyed by itself, or with a nicely seared Rib-eye steak.
  • 2014 Malbec
  • 2014 Merlot
Purple plum and Bing cherry aromas, to the long, intense finish that screams blueberries and cherries. In the middle you’ll find zippy plum tart flavors, raspberry jam, cranberry, and hints of leather and chocolate. It is deeply satisfying without being in the least bit cloying. This well balanced Merlot has a long lasting finish.
  • 2015 Merlot
Vibrant and complex with fruit as the fundamental structure of this wine. Fragrant red fruit aromas. Bold and complex on the palate with plums, cherries, casis, leather, chocolate.
  • 2014 Petit Verdot
Dark red color with complex aromas and flavors. It has bright aromas of ripe blueberries and plum, black licorice, tar, and juniper. The palate follows suit with initial flavors of dark fruit, and as you sip this wine you find the earth driven flavors of pine, resin, and tar. This wine has well balanced tannins and a finish that stays with you for a long time. This is another vintage that is consistent to the Cuda Ridge tradition of providing a well balanced, exciting, Petit Verdot. Enjoy
  • 2015 Sauvignon Blanc
This wine is refreshing and clean with bold acidity. Fruit is vibrant with Peach and white currant from nose to finish. This is a superb wine chilled and served on a hot summer day. This wine goes great paired with shrimp scampi or white fish with a lemon caper sauce.
  • 2016 Sauvignon Blanc
Fermented and aged in mostly stainless steel tank to bring out the bold acidity that provides a fresh cleansing of the palate filled with citrus including tangerine, cooked pineapple, lime, and white currant
  • 2015 Semillon
The 2015 Semillon is enticingly fragrant on the nose with aromas of orange peel and lanoline. The intensity carries onto the palate with flavors of orange, honeysuckle and topical fruits with a long lasting finish. While the fruit is the common thread in this wine, the most interesting characteristic is that the wine is well balanced. This is a fantastic wine to drink now, but, aging this wine for several years will increase the complexity and character of this wine. Try this wine now and decide if you want to lay some down - if you can resist.
