Located on Vineyard Drive, Hammersky is the personal label of winemaker Doug Hauck. We like intimate tasting rooms like Hammersky because they contrast the experience you receive at larger labels. Enjoy panoramic views while sipping estate grown Merlot, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon on the terrace. Friendly staff, relaxed atmospheres and lawn games make this an easy stop. Enjoy a tasting flight ($10) or wine by the glass ($12). Outside food is welcome and the pizza oven is available to patrons with advance notice. Also featured in our review the 2014 Straight de Barrel blend which is unfiltered and part of the reserve list. The tasting room cannot be seen from the road, and is missed by patrons who are improvising their itinerary.

  • 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Easy black cherry, black currant, cranberry, tobacco leaf, hints of menthol and vanilla with firm tannins rounding out the finish.
  • 2012 Open Invite
Paso Robles has been known for great Zinfandel for 100 years. This wine is a continuation of that, with a twist that is pure HammerSky. Crisp and flashy in the nose, this Zin is packed with jammy strawberries and red raspberries. Nice notes of spice and French oak accent this snappy little wine. Firm tannin and acidity frame a long and satisfying finish. Pasta or pork dishes will sing with this!
  • 2013 Party of Four
Sweet tart, raspberry, pomegranate and cranberry flow while subtle blueberry-blackberry notes carry the finish into beautifully balanced tannins.

  • 2012 Zinfandel
A soft, ruby red hue leads you into tangs of dark raspberry and a touch of burnt caramel that hints at the complexity to come. The first sip leaves you with bright acidity across the tongue, only to soften into velvety smooth tannins that bridge the balance between ripe fruit and spicy pepper. Full figured for an experience across your entire palate, taste the potential as this wine will get even better with time.
