An outstanding Viognier, the 2007 Anglim Viognier Bien Nacido Vineyard has classy aromatics of orange blossom, peach, vanilla custard, buttered bread, and floral notes. Perfumed and complex on the nose, it‟s medium+ bodied on the palate, showing a seamless, fat texture, moderate acidity, and long, rich finish. On the full side of the spectrum, but done very well and a joy to drink. Drink over the next year or two.
-
Smoky, perfumed bouquet of blackberry, cassis, dried flowers and musky herbs. Juicy dark berry flavors are suave and surprisingly understated...This is quite sexy.
-
is indeed great, with aromas of licorice, pencil lead, iron, black raspberry, black pepper and a touch of tobacco smoke. The palate is powered by boysenberry, cracked pepper, a touch of asphalt and then a very lifting wild-mint character

2010 Best Barrel Blend Syrah-Mourvèdre
Very appealing aromas of warm strawberry-cherry pie, red licorice and red rose promise ripe juiciness in this nearly equal blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre. The palate delivers with cherry cola, and the wine almost seems sweet, yet is bone dry, with nice grippy tannins as well
-
Exotically perfumed bouquet of red berries, incense, blood orange and apricot(!). Tangy and pure...There's an elegance and precision here that reminded me of pinot noir
-
Round red fruits, hibiscus and rose petals show brightly on the nose
-
Bright black cherry, blueberry, tobacco and spice.
-
Honeyed berries, nuts, and a hint of dark chocolate.
-
2006 Gorgeous (Fortified Dessert Wine)
-
Spicy red berries and cherry on the nose, with subtle floral and smoked meat nuances. Pinot noir-like in texture, with silky red berry flavors, gentle tannins and slow-building warmth."
-
Rose petals, red currants, red licorice and a bit of snapped sage stick entertain the nose on this bottling, which can be sampled at the producer’s downtown Paso tasting room. Earl Grey tea, dried orange rind and dried violets play on the palate, which cuts the elderberry fruit with sharp, slightly bitter cherry pits
-
Beautifully fragrant, full of wild strawberry, herbs and spice, and hints of licorice.
-

The 2008 Anglim Grenache Blanc Red Cedar Vineyard is 100% Grenache Blanc that was fermented and aged for 6 months in French oak. The wine is ripe and round, showing apple and citrus notes on the nose. With air, it gains richness and shows a subtle honeyed character, as well as good spice, flowers, and earth. Medium to full bodied on the palate with a lush, full texture, sweet fruit, and good acidity that comes through on the finish, this fruit forward white should be consumed during its first 5 years
-
The only red from this estate I able to taste, the 2007 Anglim Mourvedre Hastings Ranch possesses a perfumed, peppery character with black cherry, forest floor, leather, and smoked herb aromas coming through with air. Medium bodied on the palate, with both sweet and savory flavors, the wine has a light, balanced texture, good acids, and a focused, chewy finish. Outstanding and this should drink beautifully for 8 to 10 years.
-
Once again, 100% Mourvèdre shows a beautiful balance of fruit, pepper and florals. The Wine Advocate called it "charming."
-
More people would crave Mourvèdre if it were done in this style, with light rather than heavy leather scents alongside purple fruits. Once sipped, it hits the tastebuds with blueberry soda, tobacco, licorice, black pepper and wild game, all restrained and juicy rather than brooding and thick
-
Another great vintage of 100% Mourvèdre, somewhat fuller and fruitier than the 2011.
-
There’s a warm leathery character to the squeezed black cherry, black plum and violet notes on the nose of this wine from a vineyard on Paso’s westside. Flavors are rustic and tart with barely ripe berries, showing balanced zing that lasts a long time as well as a grippy texture

Buttery and honeyed, the 2007 Anglim Roussanne is 100% Roussanne that was aged on lees for 18 months in neutral French oak. It shows a medium gold color, as well as great aromatics of baked apple pie and tropical fruits, honeycomb, buttered bread, and touches of wet river rock. These lead into a medium to full bodied wine that‟s well textured and seamless, showing sweet, round fruit and good acidity on the finish. All in all, a very well done, rich Roussanne that is drinking beautifully.
-
A beautiful balance of savory and spice, showing asian pear with a hint of bacon fat

This is a wine to smell all day long, with dried rose petals, violets, cigar ash and blackberry fruit chews evolving into elegant aromas. The flavors are distinct and delicious as well, with long-lingering pepper spice, plum jam and beautiful florals.

This blend of Syrahs from our partner properties shows dried berries balanced with meaty notes, pepper and fine tannins. A great balance of fruity and savory.
-
Steve made this whole-cluster Syrah in honor of his Dad, Guy Anglim; you’ll read more about it in his Ramblings. But know that it is silky, layered, and a real beauty

Nicely rounded pear aromas surround lemon-lime soda and honey in the center of the nose on this refreshing, cooler-climate Viognier, which offers very pleasant flavors of peach and citrus rind. It's light-bodied and very easy going down
