This Cabernet Sauvignon's intensity shows immediately through its saturated scarlet appearance and through its warm and inviting nose that offers up aromas of black current, graphite and loam. While this wine has a lovely well-rounded attack, the finely-grained tannic structure is the backbone which underpins all its other qualities. Refreshing acidity plays nicely against the tannins allowing for soft and harmonious flavors of just-ripened plum and oak-spiced vanilla. As the wine progressed through the mid-palate and to the finish, the lingering flavors recede slowly as the regal tannic structure becomes most evident.

Rich stone fruit, layered with hints of toasted oak make for a dense bouquet. Supple and warming on the palate, the 2014 Point opens up with a Cabernet Sauvignon dominate nose while the finely textured midpalate shows the strength of Cabernet Franc. This wine shows regal texture with age-worthy tannic structure. In its youth, this structure is striking, yet the abundant lush and ripe fruit still dominates. The 2014 Point is a thoughtful and well-constructed wine that will continue to evolve over the next 10+ years.

The dominant Cabernet Sauvignon is evident throughout, from the creamy cassis notes on the nose to the elegantly structured mid-palate. Malbec brought levity to this wine in the form of brighter secondary aromas and well composed acidity. The exceptional length of this wine is a testament to the power of Petit Verdot. While this late ripening varietal may not be flamboyant it can add depth and texture elevating a blend to new heights. The 2013 Point is a thoughtful and well-constructed wine that will continue to open up and evolve over the next 10+ years.

The 2014 Malbec is bright scarlet in color. Deeply concentrated and ebullient boysenberry on the nose. Candied red and black fruit on the palate with a touch of baking spice. Perky acidity plays well against the plush midpalate. The weighty mouthfeel makes this a versatile pairing, equally matched with tomato-based sauces or pork loin.

The longer growing season provided a concentrated, richly textured wine. Aromas of bright plum and blackberry concentrate jump out of the glass. The dense aromatics yield to spicy dark stone fruit and wet clay which is very typical of our hillside vineyard. We recommend decanting this wine in its youth to release its primary fruit aromas and relax the tannic structure.

It possesses traits of a wine blessed with both juicy ripeness and composed balance. Its great versatility makes this wine an easy choice for a weeknight pasta dish or a Saturday evening dinner party. The nose is jam-packed with lush high-toned cherry and supported by toasted oak and vanilla. In the palate, bright acidity in the attack brings forward dark stone fruit flavors of satsuma plum which course through the palate with a creamy, soft texture that lingers into the finish. While this wine will age for years, it is also remarkably drinkable in its youth.

In the glass, the wine displays a beautiful ruby red hue, proclaiming its freshness and spritely acidity. Creamy strawberry yields to ripe raspberry as the wine blossoms on the nose. The bright fruit aromatics are buoyed by spicy vanilla originating from new American oak barrels. On the palate, the dominant Syrah exhibits spice and pepper. The Grenache/ responsible for the bright acid, lends vibrant raspberry notes, while the mourvèdre reigns in the other varietals with composed earthiness. Pleasingly fine tannins offer length and a delicate finish and to this well-balanced wine.

From the gorgeously dense color, to the exceptionally silky finish, this wine is rock solid. To keep aromatics in line with the structure, we bottled this wine bit younger than is typical. As with most juveniles, a little patience goes a long way. Initially upon opening the nose is a touch shy showing earthy mineral notes of flint and iron shavings. With some time the personality opens up to show ripe plum and sweet cranberry aromas. The elegant and contemplative structure carries flavors of dark stone fruits and wet earth. Supple but assertive Merlot tannin carries the flavors to a graceful finish. In its youth you may choose to decant this wine an hour before service.

Belying its bracing acidity, this wine presents itself with an intense scarlet color. The playful nose is flush with aromas of bright raspberry and creamy vanilla. There is strong progression from the aromatics to the palate; concentrated raspberry flavors are elevated by subtle notes of toasted oak. While the flavors are lush and juicy, the wine has an agreeable weight, allowing for versatility in food pairing.
